Lord Of The Flies

In lord of the flies the truth about life is found. If we were left to fend on our own, we wouldn't be like we are today. Today we let the government decide what we do and we have laws that we must follow or we get a sentence based on how severe the crime was. The truth is we have people to base rules for everyone, but when you get stranded on an Island for example you don't have someone to give everyone rules. You have to make someone give you rules, but those aren't always followed. Lord Of The Flies has one leader Ralph, but Simon breaks away from those rules and decides to go off with his own followers and in real life that would have a punishment, but Simon becomes the new leader in some sense.

What is truth? October 7th 2008

Truth is being honest with yourself and others. Mythology is not reality. I believe it's stories made up to explain natural events. Made up stories are not truth, they are stretching the truth. Mythology has a sense of truth though. Although the ways things came to be may not be true, the story it revolves around may be true. When you read a story the main point has a sense of truth, but the things in between most likely are not true. They are things people choose to believe that someone else has thought something to be. In the myth Grandmother spider steals the fire it explains a sense of truth about fire, but the opossum not having hair on it's tail because of the fire isn't necessarily true.
